Hi! My name is Layla Blahnik-Thoune and I am currently a Freshman at Central Michigan University. I am majoring in Photojournalism and minoring in Multimedia Design and Journalism. Being a student from a small school in the Upper Peninsula, I am excited to be in a bigger place where I want to learn and further my education.

As an aspiring Photojournalist, one of my goals for the near future is to be a photographer here at CMU for one of the school’s news outlets. I want to be able to practice and put my talents into situations that are real so that I will be ready to take on the world!

Photography is my main passion at this point in my life. Whether that is news, nature, sports, or portrait photography, I have not yet decided on a specific focus. I enjoy consuming different photography from magazines such as Vogue , Time, and Rolling Stone, which are some inspirations for my work right now. I also enjoy consuming others work through places like Instagram.

Someday, I want to be able to travel the world while pursuing my love of photography. I want to be able to learn more about other countries and cultures while having fun and doing what I love.
